What Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey needs
In plain words: to play at all it needs basic graphics: built-in graphics on a modern processor, or an old entry-level card, and to play it well the makers suggest a mid-range graphics card from a few years ago, with 8GB of memory.
| Part | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics card | GeForce GTX 760 (4GB) or Radeon HD 7950 (3GB) | GeForce GTX 980 (4GB) or Radeon RX 480 (8GB) |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD Phenom II X6 1100T | Intel Core i7-4770K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 |
| Memory (RAM) | 8 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
From the Steam store page, checked 16 October 2026. The makers sometimes change these; their page is always right.
Will my computer play Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey?
On most computers we find the graphics card for you. Add your processor and memory, and we will tell you if it plays, and what to upgrade if not.
A low-spec PC or a high-spec PC?
The gap between the minimum and recommended spec is modest, so a mid-range gaming PC gives a good experience.
On a PC that only just meets the minimum, the game will start and play, but on low settings: simpler shadows and textures, shorter view distances and fewer frames each second, so fast moments can feel less smooth. A 1080p screen is the sensible match.
On a PC that meets or beats the recommended spec, you can turn the settings up: sharper textures, proper shadows and lighting, more detail in the distance, and a smoother picture. A stronger PC also lets you use a sharper 1440p or high-refresh screen.

These should play Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey well. Cheapest first.
