Best gaming PC for EA Sports FC

EA Sports FC is the football game that used to be called FIFA. It runs well on a sensible gaming PC, and you do not need the most expensive one. Here is what it needs, in plain words.

What EA Sports FC needs

FC is a moderate game. That means it needs a proper gaming PC, but not a top-end one.

  • A separate graphics card. This is the part that draws the pitch, the players and the crowd. It matters more than anything else.
  • 16GB of memory (RAM). This is the PC's short-term workspace. 16GB is a sensible amount for gaming today.
  • An SSD. This is fast storage. Matches and menus load much more quickly than from an old hard drive.
  • A controller. Most people play FC with one. A PC works with Xbox and PlayStation controllers.

FC is played online a lot, for example in Ultimate Team. A cable from the PC to your router is usually steadier than Wi-Fi for online matches.

Going further: high settings or a sharper screen

If you want the game to look its best, or you have a 1440p screen, you need a stronger graphics card. 1440p is a sharper picture than 1080p. It looks lovely, but the graphics card has more work to do.

Which screen?

For FC, a 24 inch 1080p screen is a good, easy choice. It is the most popular size for gaming, and it is the easiest for the PC to run. If you want a bigger, sharper picture, a 27 inch 1440p screen is lovely, but pair it with one of the stronger PCs above.

Questions people ask

Can I use a controller to play EA Sports FC on a PC?

Yes. Most people play FC on a PC with a controller, just like on a console. An Xbox or PlayStation controller works. You can plug it in with a cable, or use Bluetooth if the PC has it.

Does EA Sports FC need a powerful PC?

Not a very powerful one. It asks less than big action games such as Cyberpunk 2077 or Warzone. A PC with a sensible separate graphics card plays it well at 1080p.

Is FC better on PC or on a console?

Both play the same game. A PC can run it more smoothly if it is strong enough, and it can do other things too, such as homework, streaming and other games. A console is simpler. See our guide to choosing a gaming PC or a console.

Do I need a special screen for FC?

No. Any normal 1080p screen is fine. A screen with a higher refresh rate (144Hz or more) makes the match look smoother if the PC can keep up.
