Best gaming PC for Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone is a big online battle game with huge maps and lots of players at once. It is one of the more demanding popular games, so it needs a proper gaming PC with a good graphics card and plenty of fast storage.

What Warzone needs

• Graphics card: this is the part that draws the picture, and it matters most. Warzone needs a separate graphics card. A mid-range card plays it well at 1080p. See graphics cards explained if the names confuse you.
• Processor: the processor runs the game itself. With so many players and so much going on, a decent modern processor helps keep things smooth in busy fights.
• Memory (RAM): 16GB is sensible. Our guide to how much memory you need explains more.
• Storage: Warzone is very large, and updates are big and frequent. An SSD (a fast storage drive) makes the game load quickly. Choose one with lots of room, or you will be deleting games to make space.

In short: Warzone is demanding. It is not a game for a cheap PC with built-in graphics.

Going further: high settings, 1440p and streaming

Some players want more than "plays well". Higher settings make the game look sharper and more detailed. Higher frame rates make it feel smoother, which helps you spot and react to other players. A 1440p screen is sharper than 1080p, but it asks a lot more from the graphics card.

If you want any of these, choose a stronger graphics card. If you also stream your games online, a stronger processor and 32GB of memory help, because the PC is doing two jobs at once. Our guide to frame rate and refresh rate explains why smoothness matters.

Which screen?

Your screen decides how hard the PC has to work. A 1080p screen is the easiest to drive. 1440p looks sharper but needs more power. Read 1080p, 1440p or 4K and what size monitor is best for gaming before you choose.
