Best gaming PC for Roblox

Roblox is mostly played by children and teenagers. It is one of the lightest popular games, so you do not need to spend a lot for it to run smoothly.
What Roblox needs
Roblox is light. It is made to run on phones and tablets as well as PCs, so a modest PC copes well. Some Roblox games are busier than others, though, and those ask a bit more.
- Graphics card: the part that draws the picture. Built-in graphics (graphics inside the processor, with no separate card) is enough for most Roblox games. A budget graphics card makes it smoother.
- Processor: any modern processor is fine.
- Memory (RAM): 16GB is the sensible amount for a new PC.
- Storage: an SSD, a fast storage drive, so Windows and games start quickly.

Going further: other games, 1440p and recording
Children often move on from Roblox to bigger games like Fortnite or Minecraft with shaders. A PC with a separate graphics card gives them room to grow. It also helps with higher settings, a sharper 1440p screen, and recording or streaming their games.

Keeping it safe
Roblox has parental controls for chat and spending, and Windows has family settings for screen time. Set them up before you hand the PC over. Our parent's guide to buying a gaming PC for a child covers this in more detail.
Which screen?
A 1080p screen of about 24 inches suits Roblox well and keeps the cost down. Read 1080p, 1440p or 4K and what size monitor is best for gaming.

Questions people ask
Can Roblox run without a graphics card?
Yes. Roblox is light, and built-in graphics, which are part of the processor, play most Roblox games well. A graphics card helps in busier games and at higher settings.
How much RAM do I need for Roblox?
16GB is the sensible amount for a new PC. Roblox itself is light, but 16GB leaves room for other games later and for things like a web browser or voice chat at the same time.
Is Roblox safe for children?
Roblox has its own parental controls, set up through a parent account. Use them to choose who your child can chat with and what they can spend. Windows also has family settings for screen time.
Will a Roblox PC play other games?
A PC with built-in graphics plays Roblox and Minecraft well but struggles with bigger games. If your child may move on to Fortnite or similar, a PC with a separate graphics card lasts longer.
