GTA 6 on PC: release date and what we know

By Stephen Parsons, Sandbox Computers, Worcester. Last updated .

GTA 6 is one of the most awaited games ever made. It comes out on 19 November 2026, but only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for now. Here is what Rockstar has actually said about a PC version, with no guesses.

The facts so far

  • Release date: 19 November 2026, from Rockstar Games.
  • Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Pre-load: on consoles from 10 November 2026.
  • PC: not announced. There is no PC release date and no list of PC specs from Rockstar yet.

From Rockstar Games: the official GTA VI page and Rockstar Newswire, 3 November 2026. Checked 3 November 2026.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Rockstar has not said. What we do know is how its last big games went:

  • GTA V came out on consoles in September 2013 and on PC in April 2015, about a year and a half later.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 came out on consoles in October 2018 and on PC in late 2019, about a year later.

So a PC version is widely expected, but it is not promised, and any PC date you read about is a guess until Rockstar announces it. Be careful of websites offering GTA 6 PC keys or downloads today: there is no PC version to sell.

What PC will GTA 6 need?

Nobody can tell you yet. Rockstar has not published PC specs, so any "GTA 6 PC requirements" list online today is made up. The day Rockstar publishes them, we will add them here and to our Game Finder, with the PCs from our shop that meet them.

If you are buying a gaming PC now and want one that is ready for big new games, choose one strong enough for today's most demanding games, such as Cyberpunk 2077. These are the cheapest on our shop right now:

Questions people ask

When does GTA 6 come out?

Rockstar Games says Grand Theft Auto VI comes out on 19 November 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-loading on consoles starts on 10 November 2026.

Is GTA 6 coming out on PC?

Not on 19 November. Rockstar has not announced a PC version or a PC release date. Rockstar's last big games did come to PC later: GTA V reached PC about a year and a half after the consoles, and Red Dead Redemption 2 about a year after. A PC version is widely expected, but until Rockstar announces one, nobody knows the date.

What PC will I need for GTA 6?

Nobody knows yet, because Rockstar has not published any PC specs. Any list of GTA 6 PC requirements you see online today is a guess. We will add the official specs to this page as soon as Rockstar publishes them.

Can I buy GTA 6 for PC now?

No. There is no PC version to buy yet. Be careful of websites selling GTA 6 PC keys or downloads: they are not selling the real game.

Should I wait for GTA 6 before buying a gaming PC?

You do not have to. A PC that plays today's most demanding games well is a sensible choice, and in the meantime you can play GTA V Enhanced and Red Dead Redemption 2, which are both on PC now. If you want to be sure, wait for Rockstar's PC specs and we will tell you which of our PCs meet them.
